The number 13 really isn't unlucky, but enough people bought into the illusion, that we've built many of our buildings without a 13th floor.

Not everyone believes 13 to be an unlucky number.  There are cultures who believe other numbers are unlucky and that 13 is actually lucky.  Mary Kay Ash opened her doors for business on Friday the 13th because that's the day her lease started.  She decided 13 was going to be her lucky number.  Great decision.  People today still visit the office she built on the 13th floor of Mary Kay headquarters - a multi-billion dollar success story.  The lucky/unlucky mindset is all in our head.

When we believe enough in an idea, we will find and build evidence to support that notion.

What beliefs have you bought for yourself?

  • I'm a lucky person
  • All my luck is bad
  • I'm attractive
  • I'm ugly
  • I make a difference
  • I'm useless
  • I' m surrounded by idiots
  • I surround myself with good-hearted, intelligent people
  • I'm loveable
  • I'm not...
  • Insert your beliefs here.

Write down your negative beliefs about yourself on one side of a page.  Write the exact opposite on the other side.  Now rip the page in half, burn the negative stuff and post the positive on your bathroom mirror.  Remind yourself of the positives every day for one full year - and let me know what your life looks like a year from now.  It may not be perfect, but I'm willing to bet it will be significantly brighter.

You deserve wonderful
